The appearance of covid-19 has had significant impacts on the entire world of sport, and particularly on football. So, let’s return to the consequences of the pandemic.
A world without sports? They never thought about it even for a second. Whether they are coaches, players, leather promoters, supporters, etc. But we lived through this episode, life without sport in general, especially football.
Stop football
The pandemic caused a long pause. First of all from a sporting point of view with the interruption of the Guinean football championship, 6 months ago, by order of the Ministry of Sports, to stop all sporting activities.
Although the resumption of competitions is on the horizon, things are gradually starting to return to order. While the question of how training is going in this period of covid-19 is nagging people's minds.
The players do not drink from the same bag
“Players take precautions before they get there. On the ground, we are not in a ventilated space, you just have to be careful. And every time, wash your hands. The players do not drink from the same bag of water. The doctor takes our temperatures in the locker room before entering the field,” underlines a sports supervisor, to whom we handed our microphone.
“We started training again, everything is going well with the coach and the staff. We have already started the preparation phase. We have been given measures to respect: wearing a mask, washing our hands, especially physical distancing, as much as we can. It’s true, with football it’s difficult. But we try to respect,” explains a player.
Dramatic repercussions for clubs
Sports clubs are suffering from the coronavirus, economic losses recorded, the financial maintenance of players and supervisors has posed a problem. The return of competitions on October 14 will be difficult because of the coronavirus. Because football is a contact game. “I'm not afraid, but I think it will be a bit awkward to play and not have contact with other players, because you have to,” laments a player on condition of anonymity.
